            One of AW Tillinghast’s first designs, SHCC is a classic 18 hole facility that was finished in 1917.  The club itself was formed in 1899 for social and recreational purposes.  The founders were primarily New York City residents and, thus, the use of “country” in the name of their Club. 

 

Golf Operations

            The Country Club, established in 1882, is a 27 hole facility located just southeast of Boston.  Designed by the Campbell brothers, it is the oldest country club in the United States; hosting the 1913, 1963, and 1988 US Open’s, the 1999 Ryder Cup and over 5 USGA events.  The club’s 1,200 members, 600 of those golfers, play approximately 25,000 rounds per year. 

 

Tournament Operations

  • Assisted and conducted multiple 100+ player events

  • Experienced with Event-Man software

  • Planned prizes, proxies, and shotgun start for events

  • Communicated with food and beverage about tournament details

            Set on 7,000 acres of active farmland, Cape Kidnappers is one of the youngest golf courses to join the top 100 in the world, currently at number 22.  Co-host of the Kiwi Challenge in 2008 and 2009, this Tom Doak design holds true to its rustic beauty all while being an exceptional test of golf.

National Golf Links of America                                                                                                                                                                   Southampton, NY

Golf Operations – May-November 2013

 

            National Golf Links of America, founded and designed by Charles Blair Macdonald, was established in 1909.  Having hosted the inaugural Walker Cup match in 1922, the club has earned its place in history.  The 18 hole links style course, once again hosting the 2013 Walker Cup, was called “my pride and joy” according to C.B. Macdonald himself.

 

Merchandising

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory levels of various vendors; equating to $250,000

  • Assisted with putting together the 2014 buying plan

  • Checked-in merchandise, input invoices into Jonas POS System

  • Maintained financial records of shop operations grossing $650,000 per season

  • Provided customer service to members and guests via product knowledge

Tournament Operations

  • Assisted with running all club tournaments including the Annual C.B. Macdonald Invitational and Fourball Tournament

  • Coordinated over sixty weekday corporate outings

Golf Operations – Summer 2010 and 2011

 

            Essex County Country Club is an 18 hole private facility located in Northeastern New Jersey.  The course is originally an A.W Tillinghast design, opened in 1887; New Jersey’s oldest private country club.  The now 7,100 yard championship course has hosted multiple New Jersey State Amateurs and Opens.  It has over 250 playing members, with roughly 22,000 rounds played annually.

 

Merchandising

  • Received merchandise into Jonas POS system

  • Completed golf shop invoices

  • Set up daily merchandise displays

  • $300,000 of inventory, $600,000 in sales annually

  • Conducted morning first tee games

Tournament Experience

 

2014, 2015 & 2016 Masters Tournament

            The Masters Tournament held annually at Augusta National Golf Club is one of the most coveted events in all of golf.  Each year attracting more than 40,000 patrons per day, the Augusta National Golf Club provides them with a world-class experience year after year.

 

Berckman’s Place

2013 Walker Cup Match

            In early September, National Golf Links of America hosted the 44th Walker Cup Match.  This marked the return of the Match to the place where the inaugural competition was held in 1922. 

 

Merchandising

  • Assisted with receiving and organizing $150,000 in merchandise

  • Created a welcoming environment for 40 volunteers, and thousands of patrons

  • Oversaw various facets of merchandise concessions that saw sales 50% over targeted numbers

  • Created a logistical layout of the 4,000 square foot merchandise pavilion

 

2013 United States Amateur Championship

            During the week of August 12th, the U.S. Amateur made a return to the birthplace of a true amateur champion, Francis Ouimet.  The Country Club, being such a storied facility, was a perfect fit marking the 100th anniversary of Ouimet’s U.S. Open victory.
